Our Founder

Dr. Farideh R. Bagne, Owner, President and CEO of Magnolia by the Lakes, received her Bachelor Degree in Physics and Mathematics from Michigan State University and her Master and Doctorate Degrees in Nuclear Physics from the University of Pennsylvania. She has also earned a law degree from Wayne State University and is a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan. Dr. Bagne was a full professor at the Medical College of Ohio. In addition, she has served as a faculty member at the Dartmouth Medical School, Wayne State University Medical School and Duke University Medical School. Dr. Bagne established and operated the largest, privately-owned conglomerate of cancer centers in the United States, including seven Radiation Therapy Centers in the Metropolitan Detroit area. In addition to radiation oncology, the practice also included medical oncology, gynecological oncology, surgery and internal medicine.

Dr. Bagne also has owned and operated Mercury Medical Systems and Federal Collections, a billing company for physicians. Being a true visionary, Dr. Bagne has created a unique concept in senior living ... Magnolia by the Lakes, the Gold Standard of Senior Living. Magnolia features 125 villas and studios overlooking both Cass and Sylvan Lakes in Keego Harbor, Oakland County. Magnolia by the Lakes is a winterless village attracting Michigan seniors who have left Michigan because of cold winters. The Village operates similarly to a cruise ship, hence it's identity: "My Cruise Ship on Shore."

Dr. Bagne has two sons, two daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren. She lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

In our golden years, every year, every month and every day is precious. We no longer hold the responsibilities of raising and supporting our families, paying college tuition and wedding expenses or worry about the whereabouts of our teenage sons and daughters. We can now truly concentrate on our own health and happiness.

So let us say goodbye to the old ways and think anew. For this is our time ... a time to embrace life, a time to make new friends and most significantly a time to appreciate and enjoy our golden years. It is a time to relieve our loved ones from distressing about our health, safety and comfort. We have worked hard, raised our families and have contributed to our society. We have earned the fruits of our labors. We no longer need to compromise.

We deserve the finest, the greatest and the best life has to offer. Let us begin a new life ... a life filled with joy, laughter, activity and friendship. Let us delight in a life without the fear of isolation and agony of tedium. Let us celebrate today and look forward to tomorrow.

Come join our Magnolia Family. We promise to love you, to keep you safe, to lift your spirits and to care for all your needs. We will make you content and comfortable today, tomorrow, and all the days beyond.

Come to Magnolia, there is no substitute.
